ActVAT™: Visual Algorithmic Trading

Overview

Traders can create new VAT strategies in the Visual Strategy Editor in ActTrader,
The strategies are based on a chart and can utilize different chart objects, such as indicators and trend lines
Visual strategy can automatically open or close positions, create and remove Entry, Stop, Limit orders, or send notifications to traders
Statistics and graphical display on the chart help you monitor VAT strategy performance

Create Strategy from Chart

Open a chart, plot a trendline on it, and create a strategy that will open a new position as soon as the market rate crosses this trendline
Add a condition to place Stop order on the position when the market crosses a specific rate level
Set a condition that will close this position at specific time in future

Change Order of Rules

Click a Number button to select a rule
Move the selected rule up or down the list with the Up/Down Arrows on the Toolbar
Add rules with the Add button on the toolbar
Delete the selected rule with the Delete button on the Toolbar

Select Event

Select the type of the event when the condition will be checked by the strategy
Select the ‘New Rate’ option for the condition to be checked at every new rate
Select the 'New Candle’ option for the condition to be checked when a new candle appears

Create Condition

Create conditions using objects; set or change properties of objects in your strategy
You can use visual elements of the chart as objects, such as indicators or trendlines
Click the gear icon in the Action section of the Strategy Builder table to open the Object Manager window, select and configure an object

Set Action

Specify what action should take place when a condition is met; set or change properties of actions in your strategy
Click the gear icon in the Action section of the Strategy Builder table to open the Action Manager window, select and configure an action in a chart

Run or Test Strategies

Save the strategy for futures use, or load a saved strategy
Using the Test mode, optimize and test the performance of your strategy
Run the strategy using the Real mode
